Now it is easy to monitor the workstations in different domains using ASN Active
Directory Network Monitor. The setup installs the Desktop client and Service component
during installation. ASN Active Directory Network Monitor can be installed on any
machine (requires .Net Framework 4.0) such as Domain controller, domain workstation
and workgroup computer. The Desktop client manages the current domain without adding
the domain details manually. The web component is an additional feature, that can
be downloaded from desktop client. Visit
Configuring Web Component for installing the web component.
Add New Domain
If the desktop client is installed in Domain Controller or Domain workstation, it
manages the current domain without manually adding the domain details. But the web
component requires the domain details to be manually added even it is installed
in Domain controller or domain workstation.
To add a new domain, ASN Active Directory Network Monitor requires the following
- Domain name (domain.com)
- Managing scope (DC=domain,DC=com)
- Connect as (administrator)
- Password (for the connect as user)
- Domain controllers (Names or IP Addresses)
The Domain connection status can be verified at any time by clicking "Check status"
button. The dekstop client does not require any login details to operate the ASN
Active Directory Network Monitor. But the web component requires the login details
for every added domain. The login accounts also can easily be configured here. Also
it allows to restrict the features for the particular login accounts.
It is easy to switch to manage the other added domains in ASN Active Directory Network
Monitor. ASN Active Directory Network Monitor displays the currently managed domain
details in the top right notification area. The added domains are listed in a drop
down to easily navigate to other domains. ASN Active Directory Network Monitor asks
confirmation before switching the domain details.
